How many games will my team play in the FCS Great Lakes League?
Every team will play a total of 8 regular season games; there will be 5 division games, 1 cross divisional game, and 2 out of conference games. PLUS - GREAT LAKES CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND & FREE Entry into a FCS BOWL Weekend.
How is the Mid-Michigan Champions Conference Champion declared?
The top 2 teams in each division will compete in a conference playoff. The championship will take place over 2 days; 4 teams, 2 games to decide who will be the Mid-Michigan Legacy Champion.
What will the Mid-Michigan Champions Champion receive?
The winner of the Mid-Michigan Legacy Championship will receive championship rings and t-shirts, a live-streamed interview, and an MVP presentation. The MVP will also receive an individual award.
What’s the next playoff round after the Mid-Michigan Champions Champion is crowned?
The winner of the Mid-Michigan Legacy Conference will continue on to face the winner of the Indiana/Ohio Conference for the FCS Great Lakes League Champions. The FCS Great Lakes League Championship game will be live streamed on YouTube and other media outlets. The Mid-Michigan Legacy Championship will last one day; call age divisions will compete on the same day.
What will the winner of the FCS Great Lakes League receive?
The winner of the FCS Great Lakes League Championship they will receive a HUGE team trophy, new uniforms for the 2019 season sponsored by Champions 4u Sportswear, individual gold medals for each player, and FREE entry into the first ever Midwest held FCS National Championship.
The runner-up will receive a team trophy, individual silver medals, and half off the entry fee into the FCS National Championship.
Why was the FCS Great Lakes League developed?
The FCS Great Lakes League was developed to give Michigan local teams a chance at national exposure. Additionally, Midwest teams will have an opportunity to play on a national stage against top athletes without having to travel to Florida or California.
Why should my team join the FCS Great Lakes League?
The FCS Great Lakes League gives teams the opportunity to play state and nationally ranked youth football teams right here in their own backyard! The FCS Great Lakes League will offer high levels of competition similar to the environment that surrounds high school games while playing in nice venues.
FCS is a safety-first league based on honesty and integrity. With that said, every coach will be USA certified. To maintain the highest levels of integrity, all players must provide a birth certificate, state ID, and recent school report card. Prior to the start of each game there will be a face-off where officials from each team checks the player book of their opponent and compares the documents to the players on the field in order to ensure fair and safe play. The FCS is striving to minimize the amount of danger and risk involved in youth football while giving talented players the opportunity to earn state and national recognition.
Can I still play in my local league while being in the FCS Great Lakes League as well?
Yes! The FCS Great Lakes League is designed to give athletes the most out of their football season. Most games will be played on Sundays so that teams can still compete in their local Saturday leagues if they so choose. If teams do not play on Saturdays then we may be able to schedule a game or two on a Saturday as well during the regular season.
Where will games be played during the regular season?
The FCS Great Lakes League will have 2 game sites running each weekend in one of the following locations: Lansing, Kalamazoo, Flint or Grand Rapids.
